During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Xizang's highway network has been continuously upgraded. By the end of 2025, the total highway mileage in the region reached 125,200 kilometers, an increase of over 6,000 kilometers compared with the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016–20). The "Five Cities Three-Hour" expressway circle centered on Lhasa has basically taken shape, with the highway accessibility rate reaching 100% for townships and 92.48% for administrative villages, continuously improving people's travel experience and tourism quality.
